Christmas Is Hereee!

So the big day has finally arrived and I am very pleased to say I have had a GREAT Christmas thus far..
The boots and the belt are new, the boots being a gift from myself.. Merry Christmas to me! Speaking of 'Merry Christmas to  me..' I got a car this morning! Even though it was my money it was a nice surprise from my parents.. I had picked it out a while back but dad told me it got sold.. Which was true. Sold to me! But I opened a little white box that had keys in it and found out it had been sitting in my grandma's garage for the past month! I'm sure my face was equivalent to a little girl getting her first pink sparkly bike. :)

Aside from my new treasure, I recieved my varsity lettermans jacket, as I have been a varsity soccer player for two years now! I also got TWO new softball bats from my daddy and I almost cried with joy. Softball is my passion. Along with that I got some new Ohio State gear so i'll be representin' each OSU Gameday.

What about you?
Merry Christmas, everyone. :) L♥

Before I was about an 8NG, and I went a shade darker to a 7N. I used AGEbeautiful permanent hair color. My hair is super soft and the color is perfect. I definitely recommend this brand!

Current Read.

So I was in my school's library yesterday and happened to pass a rack of books. One author I noticed stuck out to me and I decided to check it out. Jodi Picoult was the author of one of my verrrrry favorite books ever, The Pact. I saw this rack full of an assortment of her other books and decided to take a look. I picked one called 19 Minutes and so far I LOVE it. I definitely recommend either of these books. Jodi really plays with your emotions, something I love. I really feel like i'm in the story, or even watching the movie. Check it out. :)

Weekend Recap

Sooo.. highlights of this weekend. :)

Friday, I attended an away basketball game with my girl Kaitlin! We won!

Saturday, I hung out with one of my guy friends during the day then spent the evening with my cousins Kenzie and Sidney, and our friend Alec. My mom thinks it's weird that guys hang out with girls not on a date, but it happens. Old schooooollll.
Go, go power rangersssss.

Living in a small town there isn't really much to do, unless you go to some sort of sporting event. Instead, we went and caused trouble in Walmart.

And todayyyy, I get to do what I love. Softball!

I love my friends. What did you do this weekend? :) L♥

That Girl, Paige.

So today I figured I would inform you on a small but major part of my life, my bestfriend.

Meet Paige. She really is more like a sister to me, but whatever. We have been friends since around 5th grade. I'm not really sure how or why we became friends, being as different as we are but we haven't spent nearly a day without each other.

Stargazing in the bed of my dads truck
last spring. :)
We really have been through thick and thin but over all these years I don't think one single fight has lasted more then a few days. She knows pretty much everything about me but good luck trying to get anything out of her. She is the shorter of us two which we always laugh about because she used to have a few inches on me. One day I decided to grow and now I look down on her. She is very athletic and is a cheerleader/gymnast. She was the only freshman in our high school to cheer varsity last year, if that tells you anything. She's great at it! She's been a dancer for a good 13 or something odd years so she is pretty dedicated to it. We never have played any sports together but we make it to each others competitions/softball games/recitals/soccer games whenever we can.
Spring 2012.

Summer 2012.

Paige recently turn sixteen, which was convenient because our parents don't exactly like the 15-17 minute drive between our two houses. Since then, we have been all over the county together. We share a lot of different views and opinions and a lot of people look at us and question how we can stand each other. We aren't really sure either but as long as it works, we don't question it.

Washington, D.C.
If you spent very much time with us you probably wouldn't understand us. We have a weird way of communicating. Being around each other so much for so long I can almost think of what she's gonna say before she says it, so we might not make sense to you.. But that's okay. As you can see we've change together quite a bit over the years. In the eighth grade picture we were both dark headed, and now we're both blonde. I had braces, and now we both have a completely perfect set of teeth. It's crazy how time flies, and now we're both just about half way done with high school. I hope that two years from now I will have a graduation post on this very blog saying that we, Paige and I, made it all four years of high school together with pictures of us at graduation. But it doesn't need to come any faster then it's already coming! I guess we'll see, right? :) L. ♥

Where Was Friday?.. And special shoutout. :)

So I'm very sorry I didn't post all weekend but I was with my friends, barely home and had simply no time. Friday was spirit day, and the theme was blackout. So as you can imagine, I dressed in all black. This picture will have to suffice.
My school had a killer student section and we won the entire preseason tournament. :)
Also, a special shoutout to everyone contributing for my 1000+ page views! Thanksssss!

Recovering From Black Friday

After Black Friday, I'm sure many of you are exhausted. My bestfriend Paige and I left at 10:45 Thursday and got home at 6:30am Friday. We spent a good majority of our time in the mall and scouted out lots of good deals. This week I will post my outfit each day, and tell you where I bought each piece. Callin' it the one week challenge. If any of you are interested in doing this with me just follow my blog and leave a comment with a link to your blog. :) 👍

Hey, Strangers!

Hello everyone!
I hope everyone has been enjoying this transition from Summer to Fall. I've had my ups and down with it. I'm not excited for the upcoming cold temperatures but I LOVE the holidays! Where have I been? Everywhere! Let me catch you up..

In July I finished up my softball season! My county league team went undefeated and my travel team competed and won in various tournaments. Yes, I am absolutely in love with softball.
August! As my summer dwindled to an end I spent more and more time with my soccer team as we began our season. I have a strong bond with those girls and they are nothing short of family to me!
Here is my team after we competed in our annual "Kick for the Cure" game in September. (the date on the photo is incorrect. lol.) We raised a lot of money through t-shirt sales and survivor bracelets, which became very popular at my school. All the funds we raised went to Hope Rager who is standing in the middle of us and the "I Wear Pink For Hope" campaign. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans graciously doubled all the money we raised. It was a wonderful experience to touch her life as we did.

Speaking of September, my county fair came and went, fast, as usual to end my summer as wonderful as possible. As I may not have stated before, yes, I'm a farm girl. lol. My family has raised beef cattle for a few generations and living in the small rural area that I do, it's not uncommon. Our county fair is a big deal and countless memories are made there. A good majority of the farming kids in the area stay in campers on the fairgrounds and we basically live with each other a whole week. I won Grand Champion Dairy Feeder, and for those of you who don't know what that is, it's a young boy cow who will eventually be turned into a hamburger. I sold him in the sale and got quite a bit of money that will go toward my car, since I turn 16 in April. This is a picture of me and my friend Maggie with our Grand/Reserve trophies and banners.
Along with September and the school year came football homecoming. Me and my bestfriend Paige were each others' dates this time around and we had tons of fun with our student body. This picture is of me (middle), Paige (left) and Siera (right).
Onto October! This month really flew by for me. As football season was wrapping up we were trying to find new things to do on the weekends. Me and my best friends attended almost every game. We had tons of fun supporting our boys of fall! On that note my soccer team ended our season well, but not exactly how we wanted it to end. I grew really close to a senior, Clare, and we shared ALOT of emotions together after our last game. During our last game I received my first real injury. In the second half me and an another girl tumbled and I dislocated and fractured my knee cap. I continued to play on it and we didn't know it was really fractured till the next day at the chiropractor. I wasn't about to stand on the sidelines. Fortunately, I didn't need crutches but I have to wear a brace every day to stabilize my kneecap. Halloween came and went as well. I was a Greek Goddess  My bestfriend Paige got her wisdom teeth out right before Halloween and wasn't able to participate, but I went and visited her!
Here we are in November. We're more then half way through and i'm really not sure where this time is going! Thanksgiving is coming up and so is basketball season. I really can't wait. A lot of more fun to come, and I'll do my best to keep you updated. :)

The Benefit of Orthodontics

So not many people know all the great benefits of orthodontics. Many people look at models and don't realize all the time and money put into that smile. It's hard work, but it pays off!
Before:

I spent about two years with braces... (June '10-March'12)

Day 1:

During:

2 long years of..

  • constant battles with food, yes, really. It was next to impossible to eat ribs or wings.
  • rules, rules, rules.. no apples, no corn on the cob, no gum (<-- one rule I didnt follow)
  • rubber bands.. some people are lucky enough to not have them.. I was not a lucky person. one big pain. lol.
  • brushing your teeth ALL the time.. partially because you're scared half to death that you'll get stains if you don't!
  • sucking food out of your teeth all the time. it's great..
  • no laffy taffy, or carmels. ):
  • being scared to death of being hit in the mouth.. oh dear lord, it hurts.
But don't let me scare you away from it.. The results are GREAT and it was definitely worth it. I survived for two years, 2 homecomings, multiple weddings, and TONS of softball and soccer games. Never missed a beat. The ladies that do them are also very nice. The lady that took mine off worked THROUGH her lunch break so I could get them off before my fifteenth birthday. ♥ I am an occasionally whiney, and ungreatfull person.. sooo, if I can, you can. (:

Day 1 of a new smile:

Me and my bestfriend, Paige. Cheesin' with my new smile. (:
Paige also had braces, during 3rd and 4th grade.

After:

Having a beautiful smile is a privilege denied to many. It may not have been the most pleasant two years of my life, but it was WORTH every minute. Have a lil' chat with the parents about it if you are interested. Just let me know if you have any questions. Don't wait.. do it now! (:
